BitLocker for ConnectWise Automate Releases Build 1.0.0.21 With Several New Features And Updates

MSPs use BitLocker for ConnectWise Automate to streamline drive encryption, enforce compliance, and protect client data across endpoints.

The latest plugin update (Build 1.0.0.21) adds new tools and smarter scheduling to enhance deployment and visibility.
BitLocker is a trusted full-disk encryption solution built into Windows that helps MSPs secure sensitive data at rest.

By encrypting entire volumes, it prevents unauthorized access—even if a device is lost or stolen. For MSPs managing dozens or hundreds of client systems, manual BitLocker setup is impractical. That’s where the BitLocker for ConnectWise Automate plugin comes in.

This plugin, available from Plugins4Automate, integrates BitLocker management directly into the Automate console. MSPs can assign and schedule scripts to selected computers, apply AES encryption to decrypted drives, and add key protectors to already encrypted volumes. Supported protectors include TPM, PIN, password, recovery key, startup key, and AD accounts.

The plugin’s latest release—Build 1.0.0.21—introduces a new Client Manager tool that simplifies drive selection and key protector configuration. Users can choose volumes across multiple computers, specify protector types, and input required credentials or file paths. If a drive is already encrypted, the tool adds the new protector without re-encrypting.

Another major improvement is smarter scan scheduling. Previously, scans ran four times daily to catch offline systems. Now, once a computer completes its scan, it’s excluded from further scans that day. This reduces unnecessary load and spreads checks evenly across a 6-hour cycle.

For MSPs, this plugin offers:

•     Centralized BitLocker control across all managed endpoints
•     Automated deployment with minimal manual effort
•     Flexible key protector options to meet varied security needs
•     Improved performance and scan efficiency
•     Audit-friendly logging and error handling

By combining native Windows encryption with Automate’s scripting power, MSPs can enforce data protection policies, meet compliance requirements, and reduce risk—all from a single dashboard.
